Waiting Day 6 - Castle Tour & Lunch at The Idiot

Mom and I slept in today so we got a bit of a late start. Mom has been picking breakfast up at the supermarket next door so I always have some kind of pastry or fruit to wake up too. Aren't moms the best. The first morning, she tried to get fruit pastries and ended up with a cabbage pastry and chicken pastry. Unfortunately for her, the two that were mine actually ended up to be fruit pastries (she was already done eating or I would have shared).

Mom decided to stay in today but I wanted to do more site seeing so I did a little touring alone. Admittedly, it wasn't the same as doing it with her and I was a bit lonely. First I went down to a little doll factory I had seen the day before. It was a strange place as all the dolls were elfish looking and I don't think you were supposed to touch. I still can't decide if they were for sale or not because there were no prices but they were probably worth more than I could pay anyways. Then I headed by some souvenir shops and eventually walked over to the Russian Museum. It closes very early on Sunday and by then it was middle of the afternoon so I decided not to go in. I will save that for another day. I had lunch / dinner at The Idiot which is a restaurant built in honor of a famous story writer in Russia. I hate eating alone so felt that the name was pretty appropriate. After lunch, I headed a couple doors down to the Yusolov Palace. I did a tour of the palace which was definitely worth seeing. It is still set up with much of the original furniture and was very authentic looking. I love houses so I really enjoyed it. I am hoping to bring Mom back tomorrow morning so she can get a look at it. I will write more tomorrow as we are going on a tour of Catherine The Great's summer palace. Should be fun day.
